Message from Our President

Congratulations and THANK YOU to the 2009 - 2010 ARMA Hawaii Chapter Board of Directors! 

I forwarded the following 3 Points of Pride to our Pacific Regional Leadership team that reflects our top 3 accomplishments for the 2009 - 2010 year.

Our Three Points of Pride: Thank you to those who responded to my request for our Chapter's Points of Pride this past year.  The first  3 will be submitted to Region.

1. Increased Responsiveness to Chapter Members.  Early in the year, our membership was surveyed to identify their specific information management interests in order to target this year's programs to our members' current needs.  This was done through emails and continued personal contact throughout the year, especially by our Professional Development Team.
2. Quality Educational Opportunities.  Our VP/Programs/Professional Development Chair, working together with his Pro Huddle special task force, was successful in presenting quality events EVERY MONTH throughout the year to our membership.  A measure of this success was that we have experienced an increase in attendance to our meetings!
3. Increase in Membership.  Although the net number was small, this increase was significant in light of the economic times.  All thanks to continuous efforts to retain members and bring in new members to our Chapter.

FYI: Other Points of Pride that were mentioned were :

• Winona Kitaoka's hands-on workshop on Researching Recordkeeping Laws & Regs.
• Being awarded (1) $1000 for successful membership drive, (2) $500 speaker's grant,(3) $250 leadership camp grant.
• Our fabulous Board and Chairs for contributing their time and energy to the Chapter.

In all of the above, I'd like to recognize the tremendous amount of time, effort and dedication devoted to our Chapter by our Board and Chairs--thank you.
